There are two reasons why your handicap for any given tournament may not match your up-to-the-minute GHIN index:

 

1) The Club Index is being applied.

 

2) Tournament indexes are final once the tournament is fully set up in Golf Genius (except for Major Tournaments, where indexes can be adjusted anytime). Because indexes are set up well before the tournament takes place, your Current Index may not match your tournament index. For example, if the tournament was set up on Monday for a Thursday tournament - the rounds you post in between will not affect your tournament index. For this reason, your index for any given tournament may be below or above (if you're lucky) your Current Index.
